Duloxetine works to stop the reuptake of two hormones in the brain: noradrenaline and serotonin. It can be prescribed for moderate to severe stress incontinence. It is not prescribed for overactive bladder unless there is an element of mixed incontinence. Very common or common side effects occur in between 1% or more than 10% of patients and this includes anxiety, increased appetite, constipation, diarrhoea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, fatigue, flushing, headache, palpitations, sleep disorders, tinnitus, vomiting, weight changes, yawning.
